My name is Salingo, a 79 years old man born and raised In the northern parts of Kenya to a nomadic family which moved in search of water and pasture for their animals . I spent my childhood herding and didnt get a chance to obtain formal education. I later got initiated into young adulthood where i was expected to protect the community as well herd cattle.
I later married and got blessed with a great family. Our community entirely depends on livestock for a living but due to climate change things have changed. The recent prolonged drouhgt wiped out all my livestock and I now have to depend on scarce manual jobs in order to provide for my family.
I am kindly appealing for your support so that I can establish a small income-generating activity. With this, i will be able to access healthcare and create a sustainable future for my family.
